Monasticism

The monasticism is a way of life, consists in monks and nuns that decided to offer their life to religion. I consider that when somebody adopts this style of life needs to forfeit renounce to all benefits of the modern life, because they have little communication with the external world.
Different kinds of monasticism exist; for example, the order of Buddhist monastic, they try to live with a minimum of possessions, have strict rules. Many of the rules of discipline were developed specifically to avoid offend lay people, or giving rise to misunderstanding or suspicion; for example, one of the rules stipulating that another male be present when a monk and a woman would otherwise be alone together. Another rule consists in a monk that has to consume food between dawn and midday, he is not allowed to consume food outside of this time and he is not allowed to eat. Is tradition, in order to prevent contact with a woman, he will generally set down in his hand a cloth to receive things offered by women for not playing her.
Other kind of monasticism is Christian monasticism, they regard celibacy as superior to married and mundane life is the basis of monasticism, the monk’s forfeit renounce property and marriage so as to devote their lives to the poor, live with strict timetable of prayer, labor and study.
In the Hindu culture, the monk can live in the monastery; others can wander from place to place, trusting in God to provide for their physical needs. They are also expected to be indifferent to praise, blame, pleasure, and pain.
In my personal opinion, the religion is very important, but I think that is not only for the monks, everybody needs to make something for the others such as pray, give food, to heal wounded, etc. Not only have the monks had responsibilities we also do.
